Summer in Pickaway County brings longer evenings, familiar faces, and more reasons to get out and enjoy the community. From live music to local events, the season is all about slowing down, gathering together, and making the most of warm nights close to home.
One of the highlights returning this season is Boogie on the Blacktop, a popular outdoor concert series hosted by the Circleville Eagles #685 in downtown Circleville. Held on select dates from late May through September, the series offers multiple opportunities to enjoy live music in a relaxed, welcoming setting.
Each Boogie on the Blacktop concert features a different band and an easygoing outdoor atmosphere. Gates open at 6:00 PM, with live music from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Guests are encouraged to bring a lawn chair, settle in for the evening, and enjoy live entertainment in the heart of Pickaway County. Admission is $5 per person, children under 11 are free, and all events are open to the public. Guests 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Outside food and drinks are not permitted.
This season’s lineup includes Rockhouse on May 30, Trailer Park Boys on June 27, Dan Orr Project on July 18, Radio City on August 29, and Gypsy Kyngs on September 26. Each concert is listed individually on the Pickaway.com event calendar, making it easy to plan ahead and choose which nights to attend.
Beyond the music, events like Boogie on the Blacktop help strengthen the community. Proceeds from the concert series support local initiatives through the Circleville Eagles #685, continuing their long-standing commitment to giving back. Promotional support for the series is provided by the Pickaway County Visitors Bureau, along with support from The Savings Bank and Coughlin Automotive.

This special event includes a Pop-Top Drive. Guests are encouraged to bring shelf-stable pop-top meals to donate. Items must not require a can opener or cooking. All donors will be entered into a raffle.
Admission is $10 at the door, and all door proceeds will be donated to Blessings in a Backpack, helping provide weekend meals to local students in need.

Experience an afternoon of live traditional music as American Fiddle Masters comes to Circleville. Hosted by Tony Ellis and featuring Jenny Allinder, Johnny Staats, Paul Brown, Debbie Norris, Bobby Taylor, and Troy Jones, this performance celebrates American fiddle traditions with nationally recognized talent.
The concert will be held at Circleville Presbyterian Church and benefits Pickaway County local missions.
