The Ted Lewis Museum Victory Dance

Celebrate America’s 250th birthday with a spirited 1940s Victory Dance presented by the Ted Lewis Museum. Step back into the fabulous forties as Joseph Rubin and His Orchestra recreate the iconic sound of Benny Goodman and His Orchestra.

The afternoon features special guest drummer Russ Wilson and the glamorous vocals of Heidi Swinford. Enjoy timeless big band favorites like “In the Mood,” “Sing, Sing, Sing,” “And the Angels Sing,” “String of Pearls,” and many more.

Benny Goodman began in show business at age 12 imitating Ted Lewis in amateur contests and later recorded with the Ted Lewis Band in the late 1920s—even performing Ted’s theme song during his legendary 1938 Carnegie Hall Jazz Concert. There’s no better band to honor during this musical salute to America’s past.

Guests are encouraged to dress in their vintage best and enjoy an afternoon of dancing, nostalgia, and patriotic celebration.
