Take a journey to one of the most extreme places on Earth without leaving your seat. Join Kirk Edgington for an engaging presentation on life in Antarctica, exploring what it’s like to live and work on the driest, coldest, and harshest continent.
Kirk will share insights on Antarctica’s geography, governance, environmental protection efforts, wildlife including seals and penguins, ecosystems, weather, and the United States’ role in research.
A retired firefighter with 34 years of combined service in the military and with the City of Circleville, Kirk spent six months stationed at McMurdo Station in Antarctica as a contracted firefighter. He now serves as Facilities Manager at Pickaway County Library.
