Experience the 7 Mile Bluegrass Festival in Circleville This July
Bring a lawn chair, settle in beneath the summer sky, and enjoy a weekend where great music, community spirit, and a meaningful cause come together in Pickaway County.
The 7 Mile Bluegrass Festival returns to the Pickaway County Ag & Event Center in Circleville, Ohio, July 23–25, 2026, welcoming bluegrass fans from across the country for three days of live music, camping, and fellowship. What began as a mission to help veterans in need has grown into one of Pickaway County’s signature summer traditions, drawing visitors from more than 16 states each year.
Founded by brothers Billy and Chuck Self, the festival was created to bring people together through a shared love of bluegrass music while supporting veterans throughout the region. That mission remains at the heart of the event today.
Instead of purchasing a traditional admission ticket, attendees are asked to bring a donation of seven items. Contributions may include non-perishable food, clothing, personal care products, or other essential items that benefit Veterans in Transition and the Chillicothe VA.
The impact of those donations continues to grow. In 2025, festival attendees donated more than $50,000 worth of food, approximately $2,000 in personal care and essential items, and filled a large truck with supplies for veterans in need.
Three Days of Music and Community
The 2026 lineup features 17 bands from across the United States and Canada, including nationally recognized artists Junior Sisk, Blue Highway, Larry Sparks, and 7 Mile Bluegrass.
But the festival experience extends beyond the stage.
One of the things that keeps visitors returning year after year is the welcoming atmosphere. You’ll find families gathered around campsites, musicians swapping stories, and bluegrass fans connecting with friends old and new throughout the weekend.
Many attendees make a long weekend of it by camping on-site at the Pickaway County Ag & Event Center, creating a relaxed and friendly environment that feels more like a community gathering than a traditional concert.
The festivities begin even before the official festival starts. On Wednesday, July 22, at 7 p.m., the public is invited to participate in an open mic jam session. Whether you’re an experienced musician or simply enjoy listening, it’s a chance to share music and kick off the weekend with fellow bluegrass enthusiasts.
New for 2026: Craft Show in Heritage Hall
This year, organizers are expanding the festival experience with a new craft show inside Heritage Hall at the Pickaway County Ag & Event Center.
Visitors will have the opportunity to browse handmade items, support artisans, and discover unique creations while enjoying the festival. Organizers are currently seeking additional crafters and vendors interested in participating.
Make It a Pickaway County Weekend
Festival founder Billy Self grew up in the Five Points area of Pickaway County and remains committed to keeping the event rooted in the community. After considering venues throughout the region, organizers chose to continue hosting the festival at the Pickaway County Ag & Event Center because of its accessibility, quality facilities, and welcoming atmosphere.
While you’re in town, take time to explore local restaurants, coffee shops, parks, attractions, and small businesses throughout Pickaway County. Many visitors discover that the festival is just one part of a memorable summer weekend in Circleville.
