Mount Oval

Built in 1832 by William Renick, Mount Oval is tucked away on an oval-shaped knoll of the Pickaway Plains south of Circleville along the old Scioto Trail (now U.S. Route 23). Its Palladian-inspired design — drawing on Italy’s Villa Capra — earned it a place on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974, among the earliest listings in Pickaway County.

Now maintained by the Pickaway County Historical Society, the farm offers guided tours the first and third Saturday of the month, May through September. Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for visitors 60 and older; children are free with a paid adult. Reservations are required for all visitors.
