Stream Quality Survey

September 13, 2025
Let’s chat about how clear and crisp our streams look at the Stream Quality Survey event!

Stream Quality Survey

Curious about what lives in our local streams? Join Tyler Streube, Zoology Educator, and Meghan Ellis, County Park District Naturalist, for a hands-on aquatic biodiversity survey at Metzger Preserve!

Participants will explore Deer Creek to sample and identify native fish and aquatic macroinvertebrates while learning how these species help us understand the health of our waterways. No prior experience is needed—just a sense of curiosity and a willingness to get your feet wet!

This is a great opportunity to learn about stream ecology, contribute to citizen science, and connect with nature right here in Pickaway County.

Ready to join? For questions or To register please email mellis@pickawaycountyohio.gov.

Program will take place outdoors at Metzger Preserve.

Please dress for the weather and wear shoes suitable for wading in water.

Participants will walk a short distance to the creek along a grassy path.

An adult must accompany all children under 12.

Program will be canceled in the event of inclement weather.
