Stream Ecploration: Deer Creek

Curious about what lives in our local streams? Join Tyler Steube, Biology Educator, and Meghan Ellis, County Park District Naturalist, for a hands-on stream exploration at Metzger Preserve!

Participants will explore Deer Creek to sample and identify native fish and aquatic macroinvertebrates while learning how these species help us understand the health of our waterways. No prior experience is needed — just a sense of curiosity and a willingness to get your feet wet!

This is a great opportunity to learn about stream ecology, discover the hidden life of our creeks, and connect with nature right here in Pickaway County.

There will be a grass path to walk along, with potential for off-trail walking in the woods.

An adult must accompany all children under 12.
