Pickaway County Archeology Day

September 20, 2025
Join us for a fun-filled day exploring the rich archeological history of Pickaway County!

Welcome to Pickaway County Archeology Day!

Curious about the history beneath your feet?

Join the Pickaway County Park District, in partnership with the Mound City Chapter of the Archaeological Society of Ohio, for Archaeology Day—a drop-in event celebrating the prehistoric and historic past of our region.

Explore a variety of locally found artifacts, fossils, and stone tools. Enjoy tabletop exhibits from local collectors and institutions that highlight how early peoples lived and worked in what is now Pickaway County.

Professional archaeologists will be available to answer questions and help identify any artifacts you bring in. Whether you’re a history buff or just curious, this is a great chance to connect with the past.

This open-house style program is free to browse during listed hours and will be held indoors at the District Headquarters in our accessible event room. A paved parking lot, access ramp, and restrooms are available. An adult must accompany all children under 12.
