Step back into the fabulous forties as Joseph Rubin and His Orchestra recreate the iconic sound of Benny Goodman and His Orchestra. \nThe afternoon features special guest drummer Russ Wilson and the glamorous vocals of Heidi Swinford. Enjoy timeless big band favorites like “In the Mood\,” “Sing\, Sing\, Sing\,” “And the Angels Sing\,” “String of Pearls\,” and many more. \nBenny Goodman began in show business at age 12 imitating Ted Lewis in amateur contests and later recorded with the Ted Lewis Band in the late 1920s—even performing Ted’s theme song during his legendary 1938 Carnegie Hall Jazz Concert. There’s no better band to honor during this musical salute to America’s past. \nGuests are encouraged to dress in their vintage best and enjoy an afternoon of dancing\, nostalgia\, and patriotic celebration. \n

DESCRIPTION:Boogie on the Blacktop is a seasonal outdoor concert series in downtown Circleville\, Ohio\, bringing live music\, community\, and summer nights together. Presented by the Circleville Eagles #685\, the series features a rotating lineup of bands and a relaxed\, welcoming atmosphere for all ages. \nConcerts take place on select Fridays from May through September. Gates open at 6:00 PM\, with live music from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Guests are encouraged to bring a lawn chair and enjoy an evening of live entertainment in the heart of Pickaway County. \n2026 Boogie on the Blacktop Lineup\n\n\nMay 30\, 2026 – Rockhouse \n\n\nJune 27\, 2026 – Trailer Park Boys \n\n\nJuly 18\, 2026 – Dan Orr Project \n\n\nAugust 29\, 2026 – Radio City \n\n\nSeptember 26\, 2026 – Gypsy Kyngs \n\n\nAdmission is $5 per person\, children under 11 are free\, and all events are open to the public. Guests 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult. No outside food or drink is permitted.
